A two hour hand puppet-based workshop for adults, ideal for staff members of charities, agencies, medical facilities, care homes, teachers, and foster parents.

Covers practical and fun techniques for therapeutic puppet-based approaches and trauma recovery techniques to offer when working with young people. Information will be covered on the stages of trauma recovery, how to interrupt abuse patterns within families, validation, active listening, and shifting harmful dynamics into safety and greater support.

Includes shadow animation ‘Understanding Post-Traumatic Stress’ directed by Raven Kaliana.

Raven Kaliana freelances as a puppet-maker and puppeteer, educates on child protection issues via puppet-based workshops and film presentations through Outspiral, directs Puppet (R)Evolution Theatre Company, and teaches puppet-making for adults at Little Angel Theatre. She wrote and produced award-winning Hooray for Hollywood, an autobiographical puppet-based film for adults concerning her escape from human trafficking. She’s presented the film at events including United Nations in Geneva, Commission on the Status of Women in New York, London Assembly, Oxford University, New York University, University of Puerto Rico, and it aired on Danish national television.
